Westinghouse's reactor portfolio spans multiple scales. The AP1000® is a Generation III+ pressurized water reactor that relies on passive safety systems - core cooling and containment isolation that function without operator action or AC power, a design approach proven in commercial operation. The AP300™ is a small modular reactor in development. The eVinci™ microreactor targets remote energy applications where grid connection is impractical. The company built the world's first commercial pressurized water reactor at Shippingport, Pennsylvania.
